Recently, Flowtherm’s sales team were offered the opportunity for a huge potential sale. Flowtherm’s ability to create a range of options to find the best solution for our customers meant a successful sale and helped out a customer with a huge job.
The humongous quantity of nearly 500 valves along with a variety of types including butterfly valves and manual valves within a short time span posed as a difficult challenge. The company was looking to receive all 500 valves by Mid-August. Due to this being a big job to handle meant 4 or even 5 other competitors were in the running to land this sale.
A LIST OF THE REQUIRMENTS AND PREFERENCES THEY WERE LOOKING FOR…
- Needed to have an ASI card control top
- The size requirements were ½-4 inch
- A pressure rating max of 10bar
- They were searching for a large variety of valves including: Manual Butterfly valve, Auto Butterfly, Single seat valve, Double seal, and double seat with differing body orientation.
- A Huge quantity (nearing 500 valves)
- With a delivery timeframe of Mid-August
- Along with a preference for a European brand.

Whilst our sales team found the perfect valve brand for our customer… there were still many obstacles to tackle…
Firstly, there was a global scarcity of the ASI Card tops.
The Actuator Sensor Interface (ASI) Card Control Tops operate as amicro ‘brain’ that optimises the delivery position along with the bus networking to enable valves to open and close smoothly. However, due to a global shortage of the ASI tops created a dilemma. It was a difficult task to obtain in such a short time frame. Thankfully with Flowtherm’s experienced hardworking team and our good supply chain management with Bardiani meant we obtained the ASI card control tops in time!
Secondly, it was logistically difficult to obtain these 500 valves in time. The main obstacle was finding a reasonable price of shipment that fit within the delivery window. Due to rising sea freight, air freight and inventory charges it was a challenge to get the shipments of the Bardiani Valves on time without a soaring high shipment fee. With Flowtherm’s amazing delivery support meant we managed to overcome this promptly and efficiently!
Lastly,new obstacles arose along this journey. Additional quantities, changes in internal seals along with body orientation were all new factors that were smoothly handled with no issues thanks to our sale’s team and to Bardiani’s support.
Ultimately, Flowtherm’s diligent staff rose above all the obstacles and were able to present the customer with all the requirements and preferences in time to offer the best options and solutions (including their preference for European brands). Flowtherm’s successful valve sale offered our customer the best experience by handling all the bumps and turns along the way. Despite the smooth sailing for our customer this big sale was no easy feet and was handled so well with Flowtherm’s prompt order management and delivery support.Ultimately, by ticking off all the boxes, Flowtherm offered the best options and solution for our customer.
